One would think Medina Spirit being disqualified would be rock bottom for horse racing, or Justify being disqualified pre - dating that issue. Or the 70 plus horses that have died in Baffert's barn or the thousands upon thousands who are either killed after landing in Jacob Thompson's kill lot or have their health threatened with strangles and signs of animal cruelty after being in there, or worse end up on a hot truck shipped to Mexico to be ruthlessly betrayed by humans and slaughtered by them, with nobody speaking out on their behalf, nobody there to save them.
No, horse racing is in free fall with no safety net, it has already crashed and landed hitting it's head with great force on the ground and now we are just watching it bobble around taking blow after blow to an already compromised body in an already rock bottom state.
First "Medina Spirit" DIES, now HISA and the USADA just shattered any chance of hope or rehab the industry had. GRIM AF. XOXO
Outlook: Horrific for all involved - especially the horses.
