This is from George Catlin (who the government of the U.S. - named Catlinite- which is offensive to the Dakota Natives - who specifically told George Catlin he was not welcome at the Pipestone Quarry - where he went to paint the quarry where the sacred red stone that makes the Calumet was found. He specifically says that in his own writing in his book, "
