Think about it. They are surrounded by water. They can't just "ship" them cheaply to slaughter now can they? SO they just turn them loose on the street to fend for themselves. Grim. Grim like the U.S. People can be traitors. Nobody is a worse traitor than a trainer, jockey, exercise rider, or groom who hands a horse over to the meat man or turns it out onto the street.
