Either the kill pen horses are incredibly over priced - OR - "Justify" the price of one of the Triple Crown winner's foals selling for only $1,000 at the moment - how can it be? XOXO
Pedigree for "Truth Explained" here
Justify's Colt - "Truth Explained" was born 4/17/21 and sold at The Keeneland September Sale to the Lothenbach Stables for $175,000 now only three years later - it is at auction for only $1,000 - if this horse ends up in a kill pen, we will have to put our coffee money together and pay TWICE THAT to BAIL IT FROM A KILL PEN even if it is handicapped and unridable!!! Let that sink in, then go tell everyone that it's Fine and this is normal, and horse racing is not spiraling down the toilet as it deserves to be. XOXO
"Truth Explained" has had one race over a year ago, and came in 3rd at Ellis park.
As I type this - there is a bidding war for "Dazzlin Dicatator"
this horse seems to be HIGHLY sought after.
Comparing records - it averages out to have the same race record - about a third place average - as Justify's foal - mentioned above, who was only raced once.
Who makes these decisions?
"Like FIne Wine" bred by the infamous Calumet Farms -whose infamous J.T. Lundy/ "Alydar" death fame- recently died of a "head injury" - in Kentucky.
Who owns "Calumet Farms" now? Good luck finding that info, and why are the breeders of "Silver Fin" Top secret? Shouldn't the owners of these horses be transparant? How does anyone in racing speak of transparency when I can't even find the names of the people who actually OWN (not manage) "Calumet Farms" - breeders of "Silver Fin" a horse rescued from a kill pen trained by Steve Asmussen - and rescued many times over since. XOXO
"Like Fine Wine" - prolly won't sell for more than $10,000 - the claiming race prices it was raced in at Canterbury Park (Minnesota) - in July 2023.
