Imagine planting organic Apple Trees from Maine to Georgia lining the Appalachian Trail, so that at any point hikers have fresh apples to pick - plant multiple varieties -as many different apples as possible - providing fresh fruit for hikers and an industry for the mountains - many of whom have fallen on hard times. Use the Apples to make - Apple Juice, Apple Cider, Dried Apples, Frozen Apple Pie, Apple Soap, Apple Shampoo, you catch my drift - it's called Appalachia - for a reason - fulfill it's destiny - bring some income back to the towns in Appalachia - in Eastern Kentucky and Eastern Tennessee - Ohio, ,Pennsylvania, New York, Maine etc. each state could have different apple species and different products as well evidently deer like to eat the apple cores, so re-purpose them for them to eat on the trails.
Imagine future generations of families, and lovers hiking the trail - only to discover and taste all the different varieties of free organic apples to sustain them throughout their hike. While we are at it, we can also drill wells, with pumps so anyone can refill their water bottles and install help lines so if people have emergencies they can call for help at every mile marker, let's make America safe and use the trails - this is a place every nationality and every race - has called home at some point, there is so much history in these mountains, and there is also a lot of danger.
We need to make a decision - either call a spade a spade, these trails are dangerous and deadly to hikers - or we need to make them safe - which they are anything but at this point. If no changes are made, warning signs need to be posted and the death tolls of these trails and the missing people need to be more clearly understood by the general public.
This is beautiful area - this trail has been home to Native Americans - and over 800 people successfully complete the entire trail every year, ranging in as little as 4 months to 9 months. People have quit their jobs, sublet their apartments or rented their homes out and just left to go hike this trail in the middle of a very dense mountainous forest - and some never return.
The perils in these woods - are the stuff of ghastly nightmares, if you have heard about it, it is prolly lurking in there somewhere - things you may not even expect. There is even something called "trail magic" - food that mysteriously appears in the middle of woods out of no where - where hikers are so hungry they forget the old adage "don't take food from strangers" and for some reason are attracted to doughnuts, soda and other noshables, and even eat them. It is prolly best you avoid eating food from strangers, ESPECIALLY in the middle of a dense mountainous forest. Hence the reason for the apples and the water fountains.

The irony here - is that so much of the Appalachian Mountains residents have Trump and MAGA signs up - Trump don't care about poor people, he just don't.
But forget Trump - link up - and create the finest apple wine the world has ever seen, and all the other apple products - make Appalachia Great Again - start there, start w/ seeds and grow it's future - a future you will be so proud to hand down to your kids and your kids - kids.
It's amazing how simple it would be to turn this around - just by planting a million apple trees...XOXO
