I have previously wrote about a once thriving black community in Minneapolis/St. Paul known as the Rondo neighborhood, that was wiped out when they put in highway 94.
Anthony Brutus Cassius - First black man to open a bar Cassius Bar in Minneapolis - at 38th and 4th Avenue South, and named it "Dreamland Cafe".
They even had Lena Horn as a guest. XOXO
It turns out the #RonaHoax wasn't the first time our local bars - and places we meet and unite and socialize - were under attack by our government.
Evidently "essential services" is a term coined long ago, used for the same essential purposes. Take note. XOXO
A piece of history - from Anthony Brutus Cassius bar - a painting of Jackie Robinson stealing a base in the 1955 World Series.
Cassius created a place for the Twin Cities Black community to "eat, drink, organize, and connect" - this is what it's about. This is what they want shut down.
Sure, you can put a mask on and pick up to go food, but the PURPOSE of a bar - is not to grab a quick bite to eat, it is to EAT, DRINK, ORGANIZE AND CONNECT."
